I haven't heard a track from the early Rap Group "Whodini" for a while, so decided to open the show with one of their classic cuts, "Magic's Wand". Still showing respect to the Original Old Skool Rap Pioneers we progress into "Rappers Delight" from The Sugarhill Gang. What a Jam! As a child I used to repeatedly listen to the track, learning every word and rapping to the beat. Timex Social Clubs "Mixed Up World" quickens up the pace, progressively leading us to House Heavy Hitters. 2 Hours of Solid Old Skool!!!

Our musical Journey starts off on a mellow soulful tip with the sizzler, "Juicy Fruit" by Mtume. Some tracks you never get enough of... Next stop is Black Box's two tracks in a row: "Fantasy" & "Get Down" which have very similar musical instrumentation and compliment the other. Jam after Jam follow, back to back in the mix with the tempo gradually increasing. Vybes continue until we're in the uptempo range with Joyce Sims killer dance track, "All and All".

Slows jams that touch the mind, body and soul. As a club and mobile DJ I'd take my audience through a musical journey with peaks and troughs making it a truly enjoyable experience. This show concentrates on the time when you'd ask a Lady for a dance and treat her with respect. You wouldn't say a word on the dance floor but your eyes and rythm would do the talking. A show embracing the Sound of Soul. First track on the playlist is Freddie Jackson, "Jam Tonight". Very appropriate for the beats to follow. Wasting no time we lay a firm foundation with the Classic hit by Millie Scott, "Every Little Bit". Maintaining the flow, Kashif with "Lover Turn Me On" signifies that this show is hot! Reminds you of High School days and Club nights as a teenager.

Ya'll want this party started right?? Old Skool Anthems dominate this journey through sound. Cuts from Narada, Snap, D-Mob, Heavy D and the Boyz, Technotronic (took Southern Africa by a storm), Jomanda, Kelly Charles.... Hmmm, so what do we have here? Well, a collection of tracks that I'd love to hear on the dance floor at an 80's/90's night. Music designed to keep you on the dance floor. I'm sure that by now you'd agree that there are sure to be quality beats all the way.

On this podcast we initially explore Uptempo Club tracks from artists like Aleem, Paul Hardcastle, Warren Mills, Colonel Abrams, Adeva, Black Box, Raze.... to name but a few. Later on in the mix, we take you to "The Jacking Zone" as featured by the "Hitman" Hosea Singende. Over 2 hours of solid Old Skool mixed back to back for your listening pleasure.

I never stray far from the beats of R&B as this mix show demonstrates. It captures my funky favorites from the mid 80's to early 90's...

This Show starts off with some early funk as played by DJ Pioneers, Josh Makawa and John Matinde. Tracks from T Connection and The Commodores... With time we progress into the more Utempo sounds of D Train, Stacey Lattisaw and Kool & The Gang ..... When it's time to slow the pace we mellow into Saturday Love. What a mixed bag! We start off with some classic disco and reach a Soul cornerstone marked by Cheryl Lynn's "Encore". The Soulful sound progresses with Beau Williams with his killer track, "All Because of You". Strange twist to this show, we end up with house grooves Featuring Jomanda, D-Mob, Dionne and many more. This isn't a haphazard combination of tracks but a well sculputured musical progresion. A Must for lovers of the Old Skool....

The Sound of Radio 3 with the Hottest DJ's in Town: Josh Makawa, John Matinde, Peter Johns, "Mr Cool" Kudzi Marudza, Yvonne "Soldier Girl" Marimo, Norah Chipaumire "The Fly Girl" (what a seductive voice she had!), Fungai Marange, Tsitsi Dangerembizi and Caleb Thodlana. Taking you to a time and place.......

Kicking off the show with the Gap band, "Big Fun". A true indication of times to follow, as the tune goes "Let's Get Together and have Big Fun.... ". Once the Vibe has been set we get into the groove with Kenny G, "Hi, How're You Doin'" (as played by Kennii Gambo of Bretts International). From this time onwards it's classic groove after groove ......

There is a Legendery DJ who played at the Paradise Garage Night Club in New York. He goes by the name of Larry Levan. Throughout my musical readings, his name appears time after time, hailed as one of the greatest DJ's of time. In recognition of Larry, our show develops from classic jams such as: "Seventh Heaven" - Gwen Guthrie (Larry Levan Remix) followed by "Tonight" - Steve Harvey, at which time we keep it soulful with "Watch Out" - Brandi Wells. Classic track after track worthy of the Paradise Garage.

During the mid 80's, there were a number of DJ's in Southern Africa who introduced the Sound of Soul to radio and the club scene. DJ's such as Stanley "£"Sterling, Darlington Masenda, DJ Paddy, Micheal Tonga, Jim Fraser, Tich Mataz, Ian Sigola, Elvis Chimene, Kelvin Sifelani and Hatty "The Mighty". I'm sure you'll be taken back to this time, surrounded by pleasent memories.

First record on the turntable is "Saturday Night", from Zimbabwe's very own Jackson Five: Phillip, Calib, Abby, Colin & Tawanda Rusike, collectively known as The Rusike Brothers. Saturday Night took Zimbabwe and neighbouring countries by a storm. With magnificant vocals and well polished instrumentation it is no suprise why.

The mood is set and the vibe is live. A musical journey from start to finish ......

While at high school, myself and a number of school mates labelled ourselves as "Funkateers". Reason why? Because we followed Funk music of the day. During break time we'd surround a ghetto blaster snuck onto the school premises, listening to the latest music tapes from those with musical "connections". We explore those beats with groups like Central Line, B.B.&Q and Unique. After the sessions warmed up we progress into female uptempo grooves with Melba Moore, Shannon, Adeva.....

This podcast can only be described as a reflection of a Saturday Night Radio Show you'd hear back in the day. A time when you'd hear the latest beats while preparing to have a good time at one of the Night Spots. After being out the whole night, you'd know it was worth while. Money and time well spent.
